Cindy Trowbridge is a collaborative pianist performing throughout the Chicago area.   As a professor of music at College of DuPage, she teaches private and class piano and serves as staff accompanist.  Cindy also does extensive work as an accompanist for vocal and instrumental studios and recitals at Wheaton College.  She has served as the principal pianist for Credo Flute Summer Festival, Wheaton College Opera Music Theater program and DuPage Opera Theater.  Cindy has performed in recitals with renowned flutists Ian Clarke, Bonita Boyd, and Jennie Brown.  She has released a CD with the Carey Consort, and has been featured in several WFMT live broadcasts.    

Ms. Trowbridge holds a Master of Music from Indiana University, where she studied with Menahem Pressler, and a Bachelor of Music from DePauw University.  She studied at the Austro-American Institute in Vienna, Austria, and has performed in Austria and Great Britain.  


Dr. Cate Hummel loves performing, especially music that is not well known by both recognized and forgotten composers. She is active as a performing artist and clinician around the U.S. and internationally. Some memorable events have included being a guest artist at the Festival Internacional de Flauta: Perla del Pacífico in Guayaquil, Ecuador, playing and presenting at flute festivals and conventions around the US, playing the premiere of Douglas Townsend’s Sonatina for flute and piano (lost for 40 years), playing a debut recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, a recital Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center in New York, and on the Dame Myra Hess Series at the Chicago Cultural Center. She received her DMA and MM degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and BM degree from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts.  Dr. Hummel is Adjunct Professor of Flute at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. As a clinician and scholar for Altus and Azumi flutes she travels to universities, high schools, music dealers, flute events educator conferences performing her ongoing series, Modern Masters, Hidden Gems and presenting on a wide range of topics including her research on the teaching of Marcel Moyse, good practice habits and flute pedagogy. She is best known for creating the pedagogy blog, Dr. Cate’s Flute Tips, at drcatesflutetips.wordpress.com especially for music educators about teaching flute, soon to be available in book form. Dr. Cate resides in Aurora, IL and teaches students from the Chicago area and online http://www.fluteline.com


Originally from Sunnyvale, CA, soprano Stephanie Chee is currently pursuing her Master of Music under the tutelage of Nova Thomas. A proud graduate of Northwestern University, Stephanie is absolutely delighted to return to Chicago! This season, she will appear as Valleto in Monteverdi’s L’incorazione di Poppea and Grace Davis in Weill’s Street Scene with the Shepherd School Opera, and make her orchestral debut, singing with the Fox Valley Orchestra. In the past, she has been seen as Aline in Honneger’s Les aventures du roi Pausole, La ninfa in Monteverdi’s Orfeo, Phènice in Lully’s Armide, and Ida in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. Stephanie was recently awarded first place in the 2022 Fox Valley Collegiate Voice Competition, second place in the 2022 Upper College Treble Voices Division of the National Student Auditions, and the Farwell Trust Award in the 2022 Musicians Club of Women Voice Competition. In addition to singing, Stephanie has an active interest in languages, having spent the summer of 2021 at Middlebury’s German for Singers program and completed an independent study in 2020 on the variations in style and approach when dealing with different languages in music.
