About Musicians Club of Women

In 1875, five pioneering women gathered with a simple mission: to share and explore their musical passions. Little did they know, they were founding what would become a lasting legacy in the classical music community of Chicago. Today, Musicians Club of Women (MCW) boasts over 250 members and continues to be a vibrant beacon of support and opportunity for female musicians.

This year, we mark our 150th anniversary with a grand gala celebration in the historic and elegant Union League Club of Chicago.

GALA Highlights

Cocktail and Appetizer Reception (5:00 – 6PM):  Mingle with fellow music lovers in the lovely Presidents Hall, as you learn more about the founding of the club and the legacy of musical contribution MCW has amassed over the past century and a half. 

Dinner and Performances (6:00 – 9:00PM): Join us for an evening of gourmet dining in the beautiful Lincoln Ballroom, in the company of those who champion women's roles in music; showcasing the featured performances by universally acclaimed soprano, Nicole Cabell and Award-winning violinist, Esme Arias-Kim, accompanied by distinguished instrumentalists Milana Pavchinskaya and Susan Tang, with musical interludes by some of our talented MCW Members!

Special Guest Dame Jane Glover: MCW is proud to spotlight Dame Jane Glover, an emblematic figure who embodies the spirit of our founders and the ongoing legacy of pioneering women in music. In advance of bestowing upon her the prestigious Founders Award at our 150th Anniversary Gala, we reflect on how her storied career mirrors the historical strides made by MCW over the decades.
